2023-2024 REC Managers and Analysts

Camille Doherty is a junior at Claremont McKenna College from Denver, CO. She is a dual major in Philosophy, Politics, & Economics (PPE) and Film Studies, and is interested in the intersections of environmentalism, media, and social change. In her free time, she loves to mountain bike, hike, play guitar, and spend time with her sisters.

I am a senior at CMC majoring in Environment, Economics, and Politics. Having grown up in southern Maine, I’m interested in coastal health and methods to increase resilience to warming and ocean acidification through nature-based solutions. I am so excited to lead the REC’s Marine Science & Conservation team this year! Outside of the REC, I love writing letters to friends, trying out new tofu recipes, and making up abbreviations.

Mateo is a senior at Claremont McKenna College from Ojai, CA pursuing a dual degree in Economics and Music. He is passionate about outdoor education, conservation, and environmental economics. Outside of the REC, he is involved in a variety of musical engagements as well as surfing, weight-training and triathlons.

Sonja is a senior at Claremont McKenna College majoring in International Relations and is excited to be leading the Policy & Outreach Team this year. Outside of the REC, she leads the social media team at the CMC Admissions Office and teaches weekly classes to incarcerated students through the Prison Education Project. In her free-time, Sonja enjoys thru- hiking, baking, and eating said baked goods.

Diana is a sophomore at Claremont McKenna College pursuing Environment, Economics, and Politics. She is particularly interested in sustainable energy and urban development fields. In her free time, she loves exploring nature, playing musical instruments/singing & engaging in visual arts!

Carolina is a junior at Claremont McKenna College majoring in International Relations with an interest in Democratic backsliding in Central and Eastern European countries. She is currently pursuing a full-year study abroad in Copenhagen and Milan but was previously on the Natural Sciences and Green Consulting teams. Outside of the REC she enjoys Daniel Silva novels, sailing tall-ships, anything involving the outdoors, and trivia nights.

Cahal is a sophomore at Claremont McKenna College interested in environmental science and economics. He is a member of the CMS basketball team as well as various other clubs and organizations. He is from the Bay Area and enjoys backpacking, skiing, and spending time outdoors.

Talia is a Junior at Claremont McKenna College pursuing a BA in Economics and Film Studies with a concentration in Leadership Studies. She is passionate about finding the intersections between sustainability and economics and loves to be involved in the REC’s annual Green Career Conference. During her free time, she enjoys reading, running, hiking, and (beginner) surfing!

Ryder is a sophomore at Claremont McKenna College pursuing a BA in Economics with a sequence in Finance. Outside of his REC and academic commitments, he is the president of CAAS and an active member of Pomona Ventures, CIBC, PCG, and SCM. In his free time, he enjoys laughing, playing lacrosse, and having deep conversations with friends.

My name is Jiyeon, and I’m a sophomore at CMC majoring in Environment, Economics, & Politics (EEP) from Victorville, CA. In addition to the REC, I’m an event coordinator for QuestBridge and a Gould/Envirolab Research Fellow exploring how we may be able to cultivate sustainable rural communities in response to climate change and globalized societies. In my free time, I enjoy long-distance running and recharging on Pomona’s Marston Quad with a good playlist or book.

Aidan is a freshman at Claremont McKenna College who was born and raised in Massachusetts. While he is officially an Environment, Economics, and Policy major, Aidan enjoys learning about the patterns of the world in any field. Having gone to high school in the wilderness of Groton, Massachusetts, Aidan can occasionally be found crunching leaves in the forest and losing staring contests with squirrels. When he isn’t frolicking in the woods, Aidan spends his time reminiscing on his glory days as a washed up competitive gamer, playing pick up sports with friends, or talking to his mom, dad, and older sister whom he loves dearly.

Alexa is a Junior at Pitzer College studying Environmental Analysis (Environment and Society) and Gender Studies. She is a certified PADI Rescue Scuba Diver with a soft spot for marine ecosystems. Alexa enjoys spending time outdoors and has honed her love of backpacking. She is a novice surfer (emphasis on the novice), avid decaf tea drinker, hot-sauce connoisseur, and DIY crafts enthusiast.

Kate is a senior at Claremont McKenna College from Sonoma County, CA studying Environment, Economics, and Politics (EEP). She is especially interested in agricultural policy, fire resiliency, and environmental education. Outside of the REC, she works with SOURCE Nonprofit Consulting and loves reading, boogie boarding, and spending time with her friends. 

Hi, my name is Alyssa and I am an Economics and Engineering sophomore at Claremont Mckenna College. Along with being a part of the REC, I work as lifegaurd at Roberts Pavilion and run for the CMS track and field team. I really love working at the REC since I not only get to do research on compelling topics around environmentalism but, also apply it to real-world projects. I also enjoy having a community of peers who are all passionate about this cause and getting to learn about their projects and the work they are dedicating themselves to.

Zoe is a sophomore at Claremont McKenna College from New Jersey. Though she is currently undecided in her major, she is thinking about Environment, Economics, and Politics. Outside of the REC, Zoe is an Uncommon Good Mentor and has recently picked up dog walking with Volunteer Club. She enjoys cooking, baking, knitting, spending time outdoors, and being with her friends and family. Zoe is super excited for another awesome year with the REC!

Rachel is a sophomore at Claremont McKenna College from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida studying Public Policy and Data Science. She is interested in sustainable agriculture, the energy economy, and environmental policy. Outside of the REC, she is an economic journalist at the Lowe Institute and enjoys weight-training, listening to Taylor Swift, and solving escape rooms.

My name is Alyssa Wong, I am a sophomore at CMC majoring in Environment, Economics, and Politics (EEP) and am originally from Hong Kong. Last year as a student analyst I worked on the Natural Sciences team and had a great time so I am excited to continue working at the REC! In my free time, I like to crochet, go on hikes, and just be outdoors!

Caleb is a senior at Claremont McKenna College from Chicago, IL studying Environment, Economics, and Politics. He has a strong appreciation for nature and its conservation, and loves exploring the outdoors. Apart from the REC, he plays soccer and enjoys listening to different kinds of music.
