Annika Johnson ’26

About Annika
Annika is a senior at CMC studying Economics with a Sequence in Data Science. She has a particular interest in economic research, including topics in climate, development, and labor. Outside of the REC, she works as a research assistant at the Lowe Institute of Political Economy and enjoys modern dance and graphic design.

Zoe is a senior at CMC majoring in Environment, Economics, and Politics (EEP). She is passionate about the intersection of sustainability, business, and innovation, and enjoys exploring how to drive positive social impact. In her free time, she loves cooking, knitting, reading, taking long walks, and spending time with friends and family. Zoe is super excited for another awesome year with the REC!

Brooke is a Scripps senior from Oakland, California studying environmental science and psychology. She comes to the REC with a passion for science communication and environmental education, and believes anyone can find a place in environmental advocacy. Outside of the REC, she works at the Scripps Writing Center and bands birds as a DNS research assistant.

Rachel is a senior at Claremont McKenna College from South Florida studying public policy, economics, and data science. Outside of the REC, she interns for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In her free time, Rachel loves to visit national parks to hike and snorkel, listen to Taylor Swift, and play with her cat Nala.

Alyssa is a senior at CMC majoring in Environment, Economics, and Politics (EEP) originally from Hong Kong. She is passionate about the interdisciplinary nature of environmental studies and how it can be incorporated into the corporate world to have a positive effect on society. She also enjoys working out, crocheting, matcha, and hanging out with family and friends.

About Jiyeon
Jiyeon is a senior at Claremont McKenna College majoring in Environment, Economics, & Politics. Along with the REC, her involvement with the EnviroLab Rural Futures project has developed her passion for learning about how we may be able to cultivate more sustainable, equitable communities. In her spare time, Jiyeon enjoys distance running, dabbling in textile arts, and recharging on Marston Quad.

Ryder is a senior at Claremont McKenna College from Vashon Island, WA, studying Economics. Outside of REC, he plays on the Claremont Men’s Lacrosse team. In his free time, Ryder loves going on runs, DJing, spending time with friends, playing pickleball, and eating good food!

Diana is a senior at Claremont McKenna College majoring in Environment, Economics, and Politics. She is interested in the intersection of sustainability, impact investing, and real estate. Diana has previously worked on the Green Consulting team for two years and is currently on the Energy team. Outside of the REC, she serves as the Events & Marketing Director of the Real Estate Finance Association, works as a student intern at the Center for Global Education, and enjoys hiking, swimming, photography, traveling, and spending time with friends & family.

I’m a sophomore at CMC studying public policy and philosophy. I’m super excited to be on the Sustainable Business Practices Team, and am hoping to learn more about environmental careers and nature-based business solutions. Outside of the REC, I compete with the Model UN team and volunteer with the Prisoner Education Project, and in my free time, I enjoy kayaking, crocheting, and collecting vinyl records.

She is a dual major in Environmental Analysis (science track) and Spanish, and she is interested in conservation biology and sustainable food systems. About Jay
Jay D’Ercole is a sophomore from New York, majoring in Environment, Economics, and Politics at Claremont McKenna College. He is passionate about creating sustainable solutions, with experience ranging from conducting agricultural research with NASA to co-founding a recycling business. Outside of the REC, he expands his understanding of sustainability in business and policy through his work with the Claremont Law and Business Review and the Randall Lewis Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Jay also plays lacrosse for the Claremont Cougars and enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Caren is a sophomore at CMC from Seattle, WA., duel majoring in Government and Economics. She is passionate about the intersection between the environment and sustainable business, especially in female-founded companies, and is excited to join the REC as an analyst year! Outside of the REC, she is a Romero Success Coach, freestyle skier on the Claremont Colleges Ski and Snowboard Team, and avid backpacker, reader, and (novice) surfer!

Asha is a freshman at Scripps from Brooklyn, New York interested in majoring in environmental analysis or physics. Despite growing up in the city, Asha is very engaged with the environment, spending most of her summers backpacking in the Talkeetna mountains and the Adirondacks. In her free time, Asha loves playing pickleball, thrifting, and spending time with her friends and family.

About Aidan
Aidan is a Sophomore at Claremont McKenna College studying Environment, Economics, and Policy. Broadly, His work largely revolves around using data and policy analysis to better organize solutions to societal problems. At the REC, Aidan applies this framework in projects for the Policy and Outreach team ranging from analyzing extreme heat adaptions for SoCal Edison to teaching incarcerated students with the Prison Education Project. In his free time, Aidan enjoys supporting Liverpool, running, eating chicken quesadillas, and competitive gaming.

Maile Stoutemyer is a sophomore at Claremont McKenna College from Oahu, Hawaii. She is pursuing a BA in International Relations with an interest in the intersection of environmental policy, history, and law. Outside of the REC, she is a member of the CMC Mock Trial team and an analyst for the Claremont Consulting Group. She also enjoys backpacking, freediving, and learning languages.
