Reia Li, Analyst
About Reia
I’m Reia, from Tucson, AZ, land of the saguaros. I’m a first-year at Pomona, and although I’m still exploring major options, I’m very interested in Environmental Analysis. I’m psyched to be joining the Policy and Outreach team, since I love talking to people about the environment. In fact, one of my favorite experiences in high school was getting to learn from and work alongside refugee students at my school to combat urban food waste by harvesting native desert produce (I’ve tried so many different cactus fruit at this point that I’m basically a cactus myself). In the past, I’ve also worked for the National Park Service and written articles for a food-waste nonprofit. In my free time, I love reading and running and taking walks around fancy neighborhoods so I can imagine what it’s like to live in a castle-mansion. I’m incredibly excited to get to join the REC family!

About Makenna

Sophie Mars, Analyst
About Sophie
My name is Sophie Mars, and I am a sophomore at CMC from Boston, MA joining the REC’s Energy Team. I am planning to major in International Relations with a sequence in Leadership. In my spare time, I enjoy horseback riding, hiking, and needlepointing. Last year, I made attending an Athenaeum event at least once a week a personal goal, so you can often find me seated at those round tables taking practically illegible notes in very tiny handwriting.

Miller McCraw, Analyst
About Miller
My name is Miller McCraw, I’m a freshman at CMC majoring in Environment, Economics, and Politics. I currently live in Oxnard, CA, and I’m elated to be a part of the Risk and Resilience team this year! (Go Slytherin!) I’m a nerd for both flags and horror movies, and I love reading books on philosophy, international relations, and the environment. My dream is to become an environmental prosecutor for the EPA, and so I’ve spent my last few summers shadowing prosecution attorneys and working at a criminal defense firm. I can’t wait to work with you all

Kenya Nunez, Analyst
About Kenya
I’m Kenya, a first-year at CMC planning to major in Economics with a Data Science sequence. I am currently living in SoCal, but, fun-fact, I lived in Mexico for seven years. I love listening to psychedelic rock and reading political theory. I have a love-hate relationship with running, but enjoy it for the most part. I am passionate about advocating on behalf of marginalized communities and hope to one day pursue a career in politics.

About Kim
My name is Kim, junior at CMC studying Environment, Economics, & Politics. I was born in Culiacán, Mexico and raised in Prescott, AZ. Super psyched to be working with the energy team this year! On campus I’m involved with 1Gen, QuestBridge, and ¡Mi Gente! I’m also a tour guide and FYG. In the past I’ve done the Appel Fellowship (pic is from one of my stops) traveling to National Parks, finding the barriers to gaining access to these places. I’ve interned in DC for Congressman Raul Grijalva. This past summer I interned at a non-profit called Grassroots Ecology doing restoration work, and a virtual internship through the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program at the University of Washington.
